Privacy Policy

FIAFIA is a free game site. You can play every game without an account. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can turn it off or delete it.
1. Age check
The first time you open FIAFIA we ask for your month and year of birth. Your answer is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. We use it to keep FIAFIA closed to players under 13 (under 14 on devices set to Korea time), and to ask our ad partner not to show personalized ads to players under 16 (under 18 in the United Kingdom).
2. Play statistics
To find games and levels that are too hard, too easy, or broken on some devices, we record how FIAFIA is played. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we only do this after you agree. Everywhere you can turn it off at any time.
What we record
- A random ID created in your browser (it is not your name and does not identify you on other sites).
- Which pages and games you open, when you start, clear or fail a level, your score, how long you actually play (idle time is not counted), where and why you lost a life in a game, ads shown, and the in-game buttons you press.
- Technical details for fixing problems: browser and version, operating system, device type, screen and window size, language, time zone, number of processor cores and memory class, frame rate, loading time, and script errors.
- Your country, as told to us by our content delivery network. We do not store your IP address. Our server keeps IP addresses only briefly in memory to limit abuse.
How long
Detailed records are deleted after 13 months. Summaries without your ID (for example, "level 7 is cleared by 18% of players") may be kept longer.
3. Signing in (optional)
You can keep your high scores and progress on all your devices by signing in with an account you already have at a sign-in provider (such as Google), or with a personal code we give you.
- Sign-in providers: we ask only for the minimum. We store a scrambled (hashed) version of the provider's user number for your account. We do not store your name, email address or picture.
- Personal code: we store only a scrambled (hashed) version of the code. Keep your code safe: anyone with it can use your records, and we cannot recover a lost code.
- Saved records: while you are signed in, we keep a copy of your game saves (such as high scores and level progress) linked to your account.
- A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in for up to 180 days.

4. Inquiries (Contact page)
When you send us a message on the Contact page, we keep it so that we can answer you.
- What we store: the topic, the game you picked (if any), your message, your later messages and our answers, and the time of each. If play statistics are on, also the random ID of your browser; if you are signed in, also your account. We do not ask for your name or email address.
- Device info, only if you tick it: browser and version, operating system, device type, screen and window size, pixel ratio, touch support, language, time zone and the site version. It is off unless you tick "Include device info".
- Inquiry code: we show it once and store only a scrambled (hashed) version. Anyone with the code can read the conversation, so keep it private. We cannot recover a lost code.
- Who sees it: only the operator and those helping the operator answer inquiries, in our back office. Notes we write about an inquiry stay internal.
- Spam protection: the Contact page may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser to tell people from bots. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum.
- How long: we delete an inquiry 13 months after it is closed, or 13 months after its last change if it is never closed.
- Deleting: DELETE MY ACCOUNT also deletes the inquiries sent from that account and its devices. DELETE MY PLAY DATA deletes the inquiries sent with that browser's random ID. You can also ask us to delete an inquiry from the Contact page or at [email protected].
5. Ads
FIAFIA shows ads from Google. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and to personalize them where allowed. Learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent tool asks for your choice about ads. Players under 16 (under 18 in the United Kingdom) are marked so that they do not get personalized ads.

7. Your choices and rights
- Turn play statistics off: open ACCOUNT on the game list and clear "Record how I play".
- Delete your play statistics: ACCOUNT → DELETE MY PLAY DATA.
- Delete your account: ACCOUNT → DELETE MY ACCOUNT. This deletes the account, its saved records and the play statistics linked to it.
- You can also use the Contact page or write to [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to object or restrict its use, or to get a copy. If you are not signed in, your play statistics are linked only to the random ID in your browser, so the quickest way to delete them is DELETE MY PLAY DATA in ACCOUNT on that browser.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may also complain to your data protection authority. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
8. Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Play statistics: your consent. Signing in and saved records: providing the service you asked for. Inquiries: answering the request you sent us; device info only with your choice. Limiting abuse and keeping the site secure: our legitimate interest. Ads: as described by Google's consent tool.
9. Children
FIAFIA is not for children under 13 and we keep it closed to them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Who else handles data
We use service providers to run FIAFIA: hosting and database servers, a content delivery network (Cloudflare, which also provides the spam check on the Contact page), Google for ads, and the sign-in provider you choose. They may process data in other countries, including the United States. We do not sell your information.
The operator accesses the data from the Republic of Korea. The European Commission has decided that the Republic of Korea ensures an adequate level of data protection (adequacy decision of December 17, 2021), and the United Kingdom has made a similar decision.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown on the game list.
